Shuttle's Latest XPC HTPC Resurrects Dead Formats

Those of you claiming that the HD-DVD high-definition standard dead should think again, because the HD-DVD units sold better than ever. The formal announcement of its discontinued led to a fall in prices
for the device, and made it available to the main market.

Shuttle has released a new home theater PCs in a series of XPS, which can be read as Blu-Ray and HD-DVD media formats in one combo drive. In addition to high-definition discs, the XPC G5 3101M can also read and write conventional DVD and CD media.

Miniature home-theater PC comes in a fairly solid configurations, including a TV tuner that handles DVB-T digital signals, an ATI HD 3450 256MB graphics card, as well as high-definition, on-board 7.1-channel audio output. The machine is built around the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200 + processor, 2 GB DDR2-667 memory, and 320GB SATA hard drive.

Moreover, the shuttle was able to stuff all the goods in a beautiful box with a low profile, so as to be easily moved around the house when redecorating.
The new media center PC based on the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN68SG2 design and sports mirror front panel VFD display powered by the media, indicating the important information on the status of the system.

Cooling is another important aspect when it comes to the media center computer, and the residual noise could easily destroy a truly high-definition experience. In the cooling system is in the Shuttle Integrated Cooling Engine ICE Heatpipe with advanced technology and linear control 92 - mm fan.

Pre-configured systems are available in the European market already, and can be ordered from the Shuttle site for maximum € 1091 ($ 1716). Other configurations are also possible, but they would be the additional premium.
