Matrox announces new graphics card with support for up to 8 displays

Written by IT News on 2:59 AM

Matrox Graphics is one of the world's largest providers of specialized graphics solutions for multiple display, but the launch of its new M98188 Octal PCIe x16 graphics, offers customers a choice on a card with support for up to eight DVI or DisplayPort-Single-link outputs . With a PCIe x16 interface, the card is equipped with 2 GB of memory and comes with support for resolutions up to 2560 1600th In addition, the advanced management features sports cards, so better performance for customers using multiple display configurations.

"The M9188 is designed for professional environments that control the visualization of large amounts of data to be on time for important business decisions to improve," says Ron Berty, Business Development Manager, Matrox Graphics. "The extensive multiple monitors allows network operators to ensure the sound management of network of energy transfer or train applications, where maximum performance in all screens. "

One of the key elements of the new card, Montreal, Canada-based company has called the use of the PCIe x16 interface, the single slot design the availability of both 1GB (M9128) and 2GB (M9188) models, support for up to two (M9128 ) or eight (M9188) DVI monitors at 2560 x 1600 resolution, or Single-Link DVI displays with support for resolution 1920 x 1200 per screen.

In addition, the two models come with driver support for Windows 7, Vista, XP, Server, and Linux operating systems and can be combined with other M-series products, for a multi-card configuration. Another important feature is support for independent or stretched desktop modes in all screens.

According to the company, M9128 and M9188 are planned availability in the fourth quarter of this year, along with the unified driver package for ease of use and flexibility. Prices are in U.S. $ 259 and U.S. $ 1995, respectively.

NVIDIA to announced GTX 280 and GTX 260

Written by IT News on 9:57 PM

Now, this should be the least shocking, even for the biggest NVIDIA fans: Santa Clara-based graphics manufacturer will produce the release today of its new graphics card composition. In doing so, NVIDIA will not anticipate the AMD is the first to release its next-generation video cards. As with all other new maps NVIDIA, after the official announcement, the company's channel partners will also announce its new composition GeForce.

As said before, and the new GTX 280 GTX 260 cards are among the most anticipated stamp of this year. Until now, we have already gotten familiar with the gallery and information cards and we are all awaiting the decision of NVIDIA is to go official with the new product composition. Next in line are the new ATI Radeons, which have yet to be officially launched. In the HD 4850 and 4870 are also included in the news pretty much belated, and so far, we know almost everything there is to know about cards.

Both cards will provide high levels of graphics power, but GTX 280 is poised to become the next leader NVIDIA card. This model will come with GPU clock speed of 602 MHz and 1 GB of GDDR3 memory. In 240 processors, cores (formerly known as shaders) will be the clock of 1296 MHz, and memory will benefit from maximum speed of 2214 MHz. As you say, watch these rates may seem very strange when compared to the previous NVIDIA cards.

In the lower version (which will also come in double slot form factor), happens to come up with GPU clock speed of 576 MHz and will have only 192 processors cores to be clock of 1242 MHz. As for the memory in 260 GTX, will provide a 896 MB GDDR3 running at-1998 MHz.

Cards will be built on the PCI-E 2,0 interface and is expected to provide incredible amounts of graphics power. What is still to be confirmed card is "support for the new NVIDIA technology, CUDA. With this new technology GPGPU (General-purpose computer graphics units), regular software applications can be accelerated by graphics processor.

We will bring you more on this subject tomorrow, when the general price list will most likely be made public at large NVIDIA partners.

Nvidia 9900GTS and 9900GTX Drawings

The two upcoming graphics cards will be powered by the GT-200 core

Two NVIDIA graphics cards, GeForce 9900 series sees itself yesterday. It is true that the images show a genius on the products is not the functional unit, but they offer additional details on a range of products brought into the secret that deep.

After a postal system in the Xtreme Forum, the two images are the pre-9900GTS cards and 9900GTX, either by GT-200 Nvidia graphics engine. The two recommendations of the Code are P65x and P651, respectively, and both are likely to come with Triple-SLI.

Nvidia SLI technology triple in the rule requires a single 8-pin power connector for the additional cards for electricity, since the PCI-Express 2.0 port can not deliver, they themselves According to the drawings, the 9900 GTS take up to 225 watts (75 watts + 150 watts), while the 9900 GTX version attract about 300 watts (75 watts + 75 watts + 150 watts).

If an 8-pin power connector power cans the card with 150 watts, a 6-pin PCI-Express network connection can not deliver those 75 watts. Despite the fact that the two cards should not draw a lot of energy (I hope), the engineers have an approach, in safety to ensure optimum performance and stability.

In addition, the two sketches reveal the presence of eight GDDR memory chips to the component in addition to the advisory, and there may be another eight to the side welding work. The store layout, it seems that the earlier rumors about a 512-bit memory controller and the alleged 512 MB, 1024 MB and 2048 MB for the references to 9900 GTX model. However, the 9900 GTS Engineering layout shows the same number of memory sockets, which can not be together with the first, or 448-bit memory controllers, or with 896 MB memory estimates.

As usual, NVIDIA has refused to give further details, as part of its policy not to comment on non-official and without notice.

By: Marius Nestor, Linux Editor

Nvidia, the world leader in programmable graphics processor technologies, has released a new beta version of its Linux video driver, 173.08 option, which provides some support for GeForce 9800, 9600, 9500 and 8400 graphics cards, among other corrections and improvements. But we better take a closer look
the main contents of this beta:

• Added support for the following new GPUs:
· Quadro FX 3600M
· GeForce 9800 GX2
· GeForce 9800 GTX
· GeForce 9600 GT
· GeForce 9500M GS
· GeForce 8400
· GeForce 8400 GS

• Added support for Quadro FX 5600/4600 SDI and Quadro G-Sync II;
• Fixed a problem that caused OpenGL to stop rendering to windows with origins at or beyond 4096 pixels (horizontally) on GeForce 8 and 9 GPUs;
• Fixed OpenGL rendering corruption with textures compressed using the DXT5 compression algorithm;
• Fixed a regression that caused invalid EDIDs to be detected for the internal display device on some notebooks;
• Improved hotkey switching and power management support on some GeForce 8 notebooks;
• Fixed a bug that prevented the console from being restored correctly in SLI mode on GeForce 6 and 7 GPUs;
• Fixed a problem that caused the synchronization signal polarity to always be positive for DVI devices on GeForce 8 and 9 GPUs;
• Fixed a problem that caused TV output on secondary TVs to be black and white on some GPUs;
• Restored compatibility with recent Linux 2.6 kernels.

As you can see, this new driver fixes some important bugs and brings support for Linux kernel 2.6.25, which will be in its final version quite sooner then you think.
