Microsoft Suggests XP SP3 RC2

Written by IT News on 8:53 PM

Microsoft has officially announced about the new XP service pack, which is in position to Windows XP SP3, when the third and final service pack for XP eliminated. In the time that I have tested IE8 Beta 1 of Windows XP SP3 RC2 build 3311, and noted that the browser is installed and worked without problems. Jane Maliouta, the manager of the programme for the provision and management IE8 showed that IE8 Beta 1 is compatible with Windows XP SP3 (RC2 candidates - Build 3311 or later).

But at the same time, Maliouta said: "IE8 is not on the preliminary versions of Vista SP1 and XP SP3. During installation of the above Vista SP1, IE8 is not installed, and you will see the error message" The installation is not compatible with the current operating version of the service pack. "With the installation based on the previous XP SP3, the assistant is, however, that your system is missing KB946501, which is needed to IE8, and therefore your installation is completed." (Italics added)

Now, if IE8 beta 1 is not supported, the Pre-release versions of XP SP3, why is it for Windows XP SP3 (RC2 candidates - Build 3311 or later), which is essentially a pre-release of XP SP3? Yes, I know that the repetitions are very unpleasant, but they are focusing on the fact that XP SP3 RC2 could one with XP SP3 RTM, or nearby. A large part in the same way as Windows Vista SP1 Refresh RC 2 is in fact the Vista RTM SP1. But, as I have already said, there is no official Microsoft Word to confirm it.
