Western Digital announces new 4TB My Book Studio Edition II external drive

Western Digital, one of the world's leading suppliers of storage solutions, recently announced the introduction of the new My Book Studio Edition II, a Mac-compatible dual-drive external storage systems that users are very 4TB of storage. The new solution of the ante-ups in the form of storage that combines high performance and energy-saving is features in a compact package that can be easily integrated into any home desktop environment. The Lake Forest, California-based storage vendor, the new storage product is available through select retailers and their online store.

"The new My Book Studio Edition II is the best choice for creative professionals with a huge extra capacity and fast results," said Dale Pistilli, Vice President Marketing of WD's branded products group. "4-terabyte capacity, photographers, visual artists, filmmakers and home-video enthusiasts, both the space they need to save hours of high definition video and performance they need for demanding video editing applications."

According to Western Digital, the new My Book Studio Edition II is formatted for Mac computers, as fans with up to 4TB Apple external memory. Additional features four connection interfaces, including eSATA, FireWire 400/800 and USB 2.0, automatic and continuous backup software and a capacity gauge, designed for rapid information on how much space is available on the device. Connected in a RAID 0 configuration, the disks in the My Book Studio Edition II can be easily changed by the user, with rapid access to space and content.

With the launch, Western Digital also announced that prices and availability of the new My Book Studio Edition II, which is now available at select retailers and WD's online store for an MSRP of $649.99.

YM support file transfer upto 2GB

Following the recent upgrade Yahoo Messenger users across the Internet discussing the issue of new opportunities, most of them are quite satisfied to be improved.
Nevertheless, one of the articles that really caught my attention placed on the Mashable and delays that the new Yahoo Messenger for Mac supports the transfer of files up to 2 GB. At the moment, there is no official statement regarding this potential function, so we still expect to see if this is real or not.

However, the Sunnyvale company seems to be more and more focused on their instant messaging programs, as recently debuted several ways in which people communicate with their Yahoo contacts.

For example, a new flavor of Yahoo Mail allows users to connect and chat on Yahoo Messenger directly from the interface without the need for other software. In addition, Yahoo also rolled from the Web Messenger, the Internet version of the application, which allows talk to friends directly from the browser window.

In addition to all of these functions in Sunnyvale giant has developed two new versions of the downloadable software compatible with other operating systems other than Windows XP. That is why users of the latest flavor of Windows, Vista, and Apple users who are currently using Mac OS X it is possible to establish a special version of Yahoo Messenger compatible with their systems.

And besides all these features competition in the market of instant messaging can bring some new and revolutionary features. For example, in Mountain View rival Google may result in the coming months special function must assure the transfer of conversation between the two Google Talk contacts, which would mean that two users in different countries could easily communicate using their native languages.

Some of MacBook Users Affected By Wi-Fi Problems

Is Apple getting sloppier, or is the increased number of problems we’ve been seeing a result of increased sales they’ve been seeing? Whatever the cause, MacBook users are starting to complain about Wi-Fi problems, which seem to be related to the latest software updates issued by the company.

Owners of the 13-inch portables are noticing increased erratic behavior for their Wi-Fi connection. The issue seems to be present both under Leopard and under Tiger, the latest update of which seems to be the culprit.
Affected units see a very unreliable wireless connection that seems to be closely related to the power management of the machine. When plugged-in, the MacBook’s wireless is fine and reception is strong. As soon as the user switches to battery power, however, the connections become intermittent and will often drop entirely when idle.

Affected users that also use Boot Camp report that the problem is not seen under other operating systems. Similarly, other users are reporting that they managed to avoid the issue by using the Terminal to send out data periodically to keep the connection alive. Last but not least, some users are reporting seeing the problem go away after reverting to Mac OS X 10.4.9. All of these fixes, as well as the most common one of simply plugging the machine in to avoid staying on battery power, indicate that the problem is a software one related to the way the system handles power management.

The issue does not seem to be a new one, with reports going back as far as the 10.4.10 update this summer, but it appears that the most recent Tiger update has made things worse for many.
So far Apple has not publicly acknowledged it, much to the chagrin of affected users who are well aware that another software update could easily rid them of these woes.
