ASUS unveils new Radeon HD 5000 series of graphics cards

Radeon HD 5000 seriesASUS, one of the world's largest suppliers of high performance hardware components, has announced the debut of a new line of EAH5000 series graphics cards, designed to take advantage of the features and specifications of AMD's new Radeon graphics processors. The new series consists of three cards based on GeForce 5970, the HD 5770 and 5750, are designed to support overclocking, performance and effective cooling solution.

Kicking off with EAH5970/G/2DIS/2GD5 new model of the enterprise, users can cope with the latest high-end GPUs from AMD had, but with support for overclocking. The card itself is equipped with a reference clock speeds, a 725MHz engine clock, 2 GB of GDDR5 memory 2 x 256-bit interface and a clock speed of 4000MHz. Additional features include HDMI, DVI and Display Port connector and support for ATI CrossFire technology and Eyefinity.

The interesting part about the new model is that it comes with ASUS Tweak voltage technology, which essentially allows the user to their GPUs to increase the voltage from 1.05V to 1.35V, which is the core of the GPU to be tweaked from 725MHz to 950MHz while memory can go up to 5012MHz, according to Asus. These tweaks says that the end user to provide a performance increase of around 31%.

The EAH5770 and EAH5750 are equipped with the formulation of the company's cooling solution, with its own Micro finish for a cup of wastage of up to 14% improvement. In addition, the two boards equipped with the company's Xtreme Design, which GamerOSD SmartDoctor and applications, including real-time overclocking.

As numbers go, the two boards sport core speed of 850MHz and 700MHz, respectively. Both are equipped with 1 GB of GDDR5 memory works at speeds of 4800MHz and 4600MHz, respectively, while the connectivity DVI, HDMI and D-Sub contained.

No word on pricing yet, but the upper Radeon HD 5970-model will be available bundled with Colin McRae: Dirt 2, one of the most anticipated games this year applications.
